Bustelo – Vilaseca Route
The first step of a great project
The Concello dynamizes the territory through new hiking infrastructures
The Council of Negueira de Muñiz continues to advance in its commitment to a model of sustainable tourism and linked to the territory with the creation of the Bustelo-Vilaseca hiking route. This new route, 2,980 meters long, is part of a larger project that will shape a large circular route through the municipality, designed to enhance its natural and scenic wealth.
The route can be completed in about an hour and has a moderate slope. It is advisable to start in Bustelo and descend towards Vilaseca, taking advantage of the favorable slope and thus allowing a comfortable and accessible walk for most of the public. The signposting is clear and allows the route to be done at any time of the year, although there is a small stretch that coincides with the road where special caution is recommended.
Along the way we cross meadows, chestnut groves, carballeiras and pine forests, forming a representative landscape of the mountains of Lugo. The views open up progressively towards the Salime Reservoiroffering panoramic views of great natural value over the Navia valley.
One of the most unique aspects of this route is the environmental contrast experienced by the visitor: from the cooler and mountain climate in Bustelo, it descends to Vilaseca, on the shores of the reservoir, where the Atlantic influence softens the temperatures. A proposal that combines nature, landscape heritage and environmental quality, reinforcing the Council’s commitment to responsible tourism development.
